CONGRESS
Historically Arizona’s largest gold-silver mine, and with production of approximately 500,000 ounces of gold (average grade of 0.284 ounces per ton), Congress operated at intervals from 1880 until 1992. At shutdown, with gold trading around $360 per ounce, the mine was still producing gold at a reported average grade of .228 ounces per ton. (The Republic Goldfields 1991 Annual Report lists production of 125,000 tons, yielding 28,500 ounces of gold.)
Potential for Additional Resources
A March, 2019 Technical Report by Mine Mappers L.L.C. and Mark Osterberg, Registered Professional Geologist states: “The historical operations at the Congress mine provide strong evidence that additional mining resources, similar in character to those mined in the past, should be amenable to efficient and cost-effective recovery.”*
Osterberg also notes: “It is probable that the resource left by the 1990-1992 operations of the Republic Goldfields New Congress mining operation would be very attractive to mining companies active in the western U.S.”*
Arsenault
Arsenault is a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) prospect first identified in 1947 with excellent data from past work. A recent airborne VTEM™ geophysical survey outlined five VMS targets, including the historic Arsenault VMS1 zone with rock assays as high as 1.74% copper, 0.98 g/t and silver 24.1 g/t, along with copper in soil as high as 0.54%. Nickel has also been identified.
New Targets Identified
The VTEM™ survey also identified four previously unknown target areas (VMS-2, 3, 4 and 5) that were subsequently included in a field program of sampling and mapping. Figure 1 below illustrates the distribution of target areas of low resistivity and copper anomalous areas and Figure 2, rock and soil analyses. Mineralization includes bornite, chalcopyrite and pyrite. Significant gold values accompany the copper.
Pitman
Pitman is a polymetallic project that comprises several prospective mineralized areas, explored by drilling in 2019 with a 12-hole, 2,036 metre program focused on the Paddy Mac gold quartz veins and the recently discovered Dragon Tale silver-zinc-lead prospect. The Paddy Mac gold veins with surface samples assaying as high as 574.42 g/t gold plus silver, copper and lead.
Paddy Mac Drilling
Casa’s 2019 Pitman program was the first such exploration by drilling since 1980 at the historic Pitman Prospect and followed earlier work by the Company that included mapping, sampling, geochemical sampling and an airborne geophysical survey. Drill targets were selected from available data, including 2018 surface sampling and geological modeling.
